A little bit about me

Hi! I am a college graduate who is taking a couple of years off before going back to school to get my Masters Degree! I got my degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have been working with children since I was 16, I am reliable and caring. I enjoy working with children and seeing their little personalities develop into something amazing with the right care and nurturing. I am very good at planning activities for kiddos to do, such as crafts, games, going to the park, or the beach, pool, etc etc. I am also able to help with schoolwork and housekeeping/light meal prep. I am able to cook and can cook balanced meals according to the child’s tastes and dietary restrictions as well. I love each child I work with as if they were my own, and I show that kind of care and respect for them when they are in my care. I love to read and love to read to kids and get them engaged and interested in books. I’m excited to work for an amazing family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as an after school counselor for a year at a local elementary school, looking after and engaging with over 100+ kids ages 5-11, and made a personal connection and bond with each child to be able to accommodate each child in activities and such. They taught me just as much as I taught them. Hands down, the best job I have ever had the pleasure of working in my life!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Crafts! Painting is such a fun way to express yourself and kids love being able to play with the paint. Coloring books are always fun! Making things such as crowns out of construction paper are also great. Pearler beads are a favorite as well. I enjoy taking children outdoors the most so they can explore, in a safe and structured way and learn about nature, and learn how to respect and take care of our environment. I also enjoy taking children to the park and to the beach/pool, and every once in a while, if allowed by the guardians, to take little day trips to places such as a zoo/aquarium, historic site with exhibits for children, and things of that nature.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making bonds with the children, being able to watch the kids grow and develop into their own little personalities in society is the most rewarding aspect of being a nanny. Watching them develop passions for things and learning new skills is one of the best things I hope to see and hopefully had a part of achieving!

My experience with special needs children...

I have had experience with special needs children while working as an after school counselor, I am able to help as much as possible and accommodate them to the best of my ability.
