A little bit about me

I started babysitting when I was 13 years old and have continued since. Last summer I was a nanny for a 7 and 8-year-old and I would also babysit for a 9 years old and 2 year old whenever I got the chance, usually on my time off. Currently I regularly babysit for a family in my neighborhood with a 4 year old daughter. The youngest I babysat for was a 7 month year old so I am comfortable with young children. Aside from this I am 18 years old and from Albany New York. I am finishing up my senior year and will be starting college in the fall. In my free time I do volunteer work which involves teaching children tennis lessons and I work as a lifeguard as well as teach swim lessons to beginner swimmers. My hours are flexible and I don't mind early mornings or late nights.

My name is Katie, and I’m a rising junior at Penn State. I’ve spent my summers on Nantucket since I was 4 years old and will be on island from July 19 to August 20 this summer. I’m looking for a consistent babysitting commitment during that time. Ideally 4 days a week, for 4-5 hours a day, with flexibility for date nights. I’ve been babysitting since I was 14 and have experience caring for children of all ages. I also love animals and would be happy to help with pets while I’m working. I’ll have housing and a car on the island, so I’m able to take kids to the beach, activities, or appointments as needed. I was also actively involved with Best Buddies in high school, so I have experience interacting with children with disabilities. I’m in the Honors College at Penn State on the pre-law track, and I’m also available for tutoring if that would be helpful.
