I love engaging children in activities such as reading picture books, building block towers, singing songs, and doing simple crafts. I also enjoy creating little themed playtimes — like “teddy bear picnic” or “color day” — to keep things fun and imaginative. My experience with special needs children began at home, caring for my younger cousin Samuel, who developed autism after a head injury at a young age.
Spending time with him has taught me invaluable lessons about patience, communication beyond words, and the importance of consistency and love in a child’s daily routine. Though challenging at times, it helped shape my calm and empathetic approach when caring for all children.
