A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Grayson but I go by Grace. I'm a former LAFD paramedic with over 7 valor awards who stepped away recently to focus on my own daughter and be home more. I also have eight different certifications specializing in CPR/AED, First Aid, Severe Trauma, Bleeding, Advanced Childcare, etc.

I've always loved kids and working with them, they're so much fun to work with. Every personality is so different and it's so beautiful. From the time I was a little girl, I was helping my Grandmother out with babies in the church's nursery.

I do require work that will allow me to bring my own daughter, since she is eighteen months old. She's a sweetheart, and level 3 on the Autism Spectrum (lowest functioning) and genuinely loves to be independent and keep to herself to learn with her sensory toys.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading and Singing are both huge priorities for me when it comes to children, especially younger. It benefits their emotional state of mind while also building up language development skills.

Playing games is also always fun as well as doing stimulating activities that keep both the mind and body busy. Examples are Peek-A-Boo, Hide and Seek, blowing and popping bubbles, puzzles, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is hands down making sure that the family and child feel safe with you. It's a HUGE trust to have somebody's baby in your care--so safety and trust are crucial to have and build.

My experience with special needs children...

From age fifteen to seventeen after I graduated and was cramming in three degrees (send help to past me, she needed a nap or two)--I worked as a para at a special needs school for children on the Autism Spectrum.

Now, as a mother--my daughter's aortic valve is too small causing for cardiac precautions and she is also on the Autism spectrum herself, so genuinely every single day. From occupational to behavioral therapy, to food and sensory therapies--I've been through it and know it all.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One time the two boys I used to watch were having an extra hard night missing their Dad (he was Navy so there was no way of even saying hi) so we got every chair, blanket and the LED lights they had and built the coolest fort and they told me stories about their Dad all evening--it was adorable.
