More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a teaching assistant at San Ramon Valley Dance Academy in San Ramon California. I taught a variety of dance classes to children ages 5-15. This taught me how to organize and manage my students, parents, and scheduling. This allowed me to understand the importance of creating an atmosphere where timing and structure were integral parts of my job. Throughout my time teaching here I simultaneously maintained my job, my own dance education, working and finishing high school, and volunteer work within my community, thus providing me with efficient time management.
I also volunteered at twice a week at Dance Daze, an after-school program where we would teach local elementary age students, who could not afford dance lessons, various styles of dance. It was a positive environment where I was able to share my passion with kids within my own community.
I also have four nieces and two nephews who I babysit whenever I get the chance.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
-going on walks, coloring/painting, crafting, playing with dolls/action figures/cars/etc., going to the park and/or splash pads, impromptu dance parties when kids are feeling down or just need to get some extra energy out, baking cookies, making homemade play dough, building forts, playing make believe, hearing about their day/week, learning new skills from kids who have their own passions/hobbies, making clean-up time fun, watching cartoons (especially adventure time), doing their hair, putting together outfits for the week, having tea parties, reading stories and/or listening to stories.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is ensuring that the child(ren) and parent(s) feel comfortable and safe by the environment I create within their homes. It is also prudent that there is dependable communication from all parties in order to best serve everybody's needs and happiness.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had the opportunity to work with children on the autism spectrum, those with down syndrome, nonverbal children, those with physical and/or mental disabilities, as well as a child born with fetal alcohol syndrome.
These experiences have been through babysitting opportunities, working with the special needs students throughout first through ninth grade, as well as having friends and family who have special needs.
