More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Volunteered at the Marco island YMCA from age 12-15 at 14 they told me they wanted to pay me but I politely declined. They insisted because the teacher Miss Stephanie enjoyed my help and my insight. I still declined they asked me why I explained I was having fun and didn’t want the “ responsibility “ to ruin it.
I became the child care program director at age 17 working at synergy fitness, it really wasn’t as awesome as it sounds. They were a new business and desperate for help, I was the on shift babysitter. Rapidly became the only babysitter in a tiny room with more kids than safe per firecode .
I grew up had 2 kids of my own and had3 more kids I took care of while working and living on a dairy farm which is where I truly was happy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Survival activities, building shelters learning how to dry foods, mushroom hunting and foraging, taking spore prints, hide n seek, I LOVE nerf!! Swimming, hiking is amazing, going to trampoline parks or ninja gyms, art! Story telling/ writing, ART!! Inventing new games, bord games, setting up obstacle courses, atvs wheeling, getting muddy, ( getting clean too) making creative culinary concoctions, READING!! Older kiddos with parents permission bouldering and light rappelling , learning! Ask me a question and we’ll explore together. Time travel!! I love history and using imagination to travel back in time to act out what a day was like for those people that time. ( yes I watched a lot of Sherman and Peabody. ) sorry I don’t do video games .. unless you have an nes and some og Mario bros Or big game hunter on a rainy day. Kayaking, did I mention I have a kiddo carrier ? It’s an osprey I used for my kiddos. Car shows farm shows zoo I’m out of space again
The most important part about being a nanny...
Boundaries! Making sure that they are always safe means my rules may be different than your parents, I may be strict with things like helmets roads how far you are permitted to wander on a playground ect. Also strong boundaries help make sure fun and play meet with chores responsibilities learning and excitement.
Secondly, Making a positive impact on the lives of the kiddos I’m with. It’s really hard for kids to be without their parents for any length of time , being supportive and nurturing while keeping them busy and engaged is critical, but perhaps most critical is to know when it’s time to stop being busy when someone is struggling . Being ok to stop the fun to let a tear drop instead of pushing those feelings aside and tossing the YouTube or Xbox at them. Electronics are not a replacement for love compassion empathy listening and understanding.
Non violent communication and survival skills I’m out of space again.

My experience with special needs children...
None yet, I have a great knowledge of childhood and human development. Studying these subjects is a hobby of mine as well as neurology, biology, psychology, sociology and more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Having my kiddos and one of our old farmhand’s 3 kiddos here every day during the summer. Some times they would all spend the night and I’d throw “ box parties” where I’d grab large and small plastic storage boxes stuff them with dog bed pillows , pillows and blankets and wed watch a movie and they would all fall asleep in their boxes.
One night after work my friend whom also nannys came by with her kiddos and we all went out on the wheelers and ranger , started a fire, had a picnic dinner and it was so fun. Then josh got stuck so I rolled up my pants tied my hair back , the girls did the same and followed. What I didn’t realize was when I walked over to the ranger he was stuck on a stump in the swamp. first I went up to my calves in mud then the oldest girl up to her hips and the youngest up to her chest. The boys stood there laughing at us until the youngest threw a piece of sloppy mud at her daddy. We laughed so hard. When we got back we set up the water slide and slip and slide

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Scandia, MN: Aliyah A.
Hello! I’m Aliyah I am 17 years old and a senior at Forest Lake High School. I have always loved children growing up, I was always the one holding all the babies at all the family events. Growing up in a family with 14 cousins (all girls lol and i’m the oldest) on just your moms side, seeing them everyday while they were growing up gave me experience with kids. I also babysat a lady named Jens kids, who was just down the street, she had a 10 months baby girl named Grace, a 4 year old named Olivia, and a 6 year boy named Quinten. I would babysit them alone for 6-8 hours at a time, sometimes longer. I absolutely loved it. Kids tend to love me. I always walk through the door with a bright smile and I love keeping them company, having my attention only on them for hours at a time.
