In the past, I have been a camp counselor for my church's summer camp. I was given a group of girls from the ages 6-11, and I had to engage them in the activities, create questions to make sure they were learning, choreograph a dance for them to perform, and the basic care duties of supervision and feeding. I also have done camp for middle school aged students with the same requirements. The most recent experience I have is being a learning support paraeducator at an elementary school. I have groups for writing, reading, and math, and I assist with kids who have behavioral needs. I am also a leader/teacher for children at my current church. Depending on the age group I am given, I have to keep them on a certain schedule as well as deal with drop off and pick up. I also prep all of the crafts and curriculum for the classes. I have my own car that is in good condition and reliable, and would love to help with cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite indoor activity to do with children is color. It's really relaxing for both the child, and me, but still fun. My favorite outdoor activity to do with children is to walk trails or play at the park. It's fun to explore and experience nature!

Being a nanny requires a lot of patience and compassion. Children are a product of their environment which is why it's so important to cultivate one that is warm, loving, and kind. I value making relationships with children and supporting them with their education.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I nannied for my niece, who is 11 years younger than me. She is insanely smart, sassy, and energetic. My most favorite thing was when she would ask me to do her hair or makeup. While a small request, she takes her looks very seriously. She's always picked out her own outfits, done her hair, and until recently put "makeup" (usually chapstick) on. It's always a nice bonding experience and she even asks me for makeup tips now!
