My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for my little cousin from when he was about 6 years to 11 years old, who has autism and adhd. I also lived with him for years, and it was rough at first, but then he got into a routine, and I started to understand how to approach him when he was overwhelmed by everything. Especially reading that was hard for him, but every night I helped him read a chapter in the book he was supposed to read for homework. I also understand how to help when a kid feels overwhelmed and needs a break.
