One of my favorite parts of working with children is the little moments that happen throughout the day. Whether it’s a child drawing me a picture, giving me a random hug, or getting excited to show me something they made, those small moments always make my day. I love knowing that a child feels comfortable enough with me to be themselves and that I was able to make their day a little happier. 💕
My experience with special needs children...
I have a lot of experience working with children with special needs through day camps, schools, babysitting, and my own personal experiences. In school, I regularly participated in classes where students with special needs joined us, and we would spend time together, help with activities, and make sure everyone felt included. I’ve also grown up around people with different needs within my family, which has given me a lot of patience, understanding, and compassion. These experiences are a big part of why I want to go back to school and pursue a career working with children and mental health. I genuinely enjoy helping children feel understood, supported, and included.
