Laura C. - Seeking Work in Commack

I have been providing childcare for numerous years now with children of all different ages and have numerous referrals. I have worked in Corporate America and with all of the layoffs and buy-outs I decided to take care of children (what I love to do best). I worked 'out in the field' and I didn't like what I saw/was part of so I decided to work in my home, mainly, and provide the utmost of care because I do have the most important job there is - caring for your child. I have taken and will continue to take CPR courses -the method is constantly changing, but I am pretty confident in using it GOD forbid I had to. I have a lot of fun with the children and do age-appropriate activities with them. I do prefer to work in my home, but perhaps if everything worked out, I can be flexible and come to you. I do not take on a lot of children at once. If I have two children or three, at the most, my Mom, who is retired comes and helps me out - we have so much fun. Nobody in my home smokes and it is a very child-friendly atmosphere as well as child-proof. I have two older children in school right now and when they get home from school, they love interacting with the child(ren). I feel I am very flexible with days/hours/shifts, etc. and pay. If you need me to come to you or vice versa, some days that could be arranged. I do not ask you to leave a car seat, as I do not take your child anywhere unless you need me to. I welcome the parent(s) to come and visit with me and my family and if interested meet a neighbor or two. Thank you for your time and I am interested in starting ASAP.

I have worked in a pre-school for a summer, specifically ages 4-5. I have also worked at a sleep away camp as a counselor for two summers. I worked with children ranging from ages 8 to 16. I also babysat my counsins when they were younger, from around age 4 and up. i just recently left a job where I was taking care of a 3 and 5 year old for about 6 hours a day. I grew really close to the kids and it was sad for me to go but I knew I had to.

I was a nanny for a family of three. I would pick them up after school and take them home to do their homework. If they had any after school activities I would drive them there and stay with their siblings. I have over two years experience with individuals with disabilities.
