I'm 24 years old and have been babysitting over the past 13 years for mainly close relatives and friends. In my younger years, my mother often opted for me to care for the children of family members over persons she didn't know. I have 9 nieces and nephews and 2 god-daughters in total, who I've all babysat on many occasions. My duties during my babysitting gigs with them varied from school and sport practice drop off and pick ups, helping with homework, bathing, cooking, feeding, playing games, arts and crafts time, checking for monsters under beds, reading stories and bed tucking, each task depending on the age and for whom I was caring. I was also once a group counselor intern at a center for the kindergarten group, ages ranging from 5-8. There I provided supervision to the children of my assigned classroom and helped head counselors with educational and recreational activities. In my most recent, and first formal babysitting job, was for a family of three. I was solely responsible to pick up the couple's 5 year old daughter from school, help her with homework, give her her snack and provide care by engaging her in arts and crafts, and other fun activities (which I always had prepared ahead of time for us) for roughly two and a half hours from school pick up to until her parents returned home. This job ran for two weeks and was completed on Friday 4th October, 2013. I was always professional and always engaged her activities that would allow her to learn while we played. This family was so very pleased with my performance, I receive a 5-star review.

I went to SUNY Oneonta for three years. I decided to take a break to save money and help pay for the rest of my schooling. During high school I worked with a family who had a daughter 4 years younger than me. My responsibilities included pick-ups and drop-offs from school as well has helping with homework, cooking dinner, and if necessary, making sure she went to bed on time. During college I worked with a a single mother with two daughters. The girls were 2 and 4. I would watch them whenever the mother needed, there was not much of a schedule. My duties included organizing games, cooking, light cleaning, and putting to bed. When I decided to take a break from college, I got two substituting jobs, one at my school and the other at a daycare program. My school were grades K-12 whereas the program were infants-Pre-K. Therefore, I am comfortable with all age ranges and am experienced in what their basic needs require as well as how to create mind stimulating games and activities. I have observed many teacher's classrooms and have taken many classes throughout college as well as many training courses.
