I am a mother my daughter is now 3 yrs old. Not being so far out of the new mother territory, I know first hand the joys, hardship, worry, excitment, anxiety, and the wonders we all have as new parents. My daughter is well cared for very articulate and dynamic. I was able to raise her full time because my job as an Excutive Secretary completed its contract and had the grand idea to move to NYC. I haven't been back to work since I moved to NYC. So all in all Im a mother of a young child looking for employment. I consider myself as being a successful parent,( a great means of a nanny reference.). I have full availability as my husband can watch my child at night when she isn't in head start. I will preform household chores, and errands. I do believe in wholesome meals daily and old-fashioned fun activities. I grew up in the country so I know no other way to be a kid, or enjoy life. I love being outdoors, although when it rains dont be surprised if the kids and I form a make shift castle in the play area and become knights and princesses. Lol! I am honest and straightforward. If anything I will probably tell you a little too much ( ie. How big the babys poops were, what color they were, etc.) I have a Linkedin profile where all my information is located. I have great references in NYC from NYC social service workers as well. I also have great personal references. I am a bi racial woman married to a bi racial man so I am very open minded and respectful of all cultures.

Hello!

I have just moved to NYC from Los Angeles where I worked for the past two years as an Artistic Director for an intermedia performing arts company and as a nanny for two boys, ages 0-3. I unfortunately had to say goodbye because of the move, but I would love to join another warm, fun family here in NYC! A few of my favorite things to do with the kids is getting outside as much as possible so they can have new experiences and see new things, as well as doing arts and crafts and music activities with them.

I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Visual Anthropology and a minor in Photography and Social Change. While I was in school, I worked for a non-profit organization, Kids In Need of Defense, where I was a case worker for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the United States. I also mentored elementary and middle school aged students who were interested in pursuing a career in dance or visual art through the Los Angeles Spark Program.

I am a certified EMT and spent this past Summer and Fall in Alaska working as a field medic for search and rescue. So, I am medically trained and prepared for any medical emergency that might arise!

My schedule is very flexible, as I work freelance for the most part, and I am available to work part-time, full-time, and travel.

Thank you for your consideration,
Stevie

I am flexible on times so I can adjust to fit yours!

I enjoy cooking and housework, and love to fold laundry. Familiar with meal prepping, Konmari folding, and food allergies.

I am incredibly crafty, can sing, play the piano, and love to dance. I have no problem getting silly, rolling around in the dirt, and also encouraging kiddos to try new things. I also like to swim. I know NYC well, and with your permission do not mind taking the kids to museums, zoos, parks and aquariums during the day.

For very little ones, I have a couple years of experience working in my church's nursery, as well as helping a friend with her newborn. I do not mind changing messy diapers, walking in circles for hours so they can sleep, or just simply holding them.

I have a valid driver's license and am comfortable driving in NYC traffic.

I am not CPR or First Aid Certified, but am willing to obtain immediately.

If you have animals in your home, I have 3 years of experience in the veterinary field, and am comfortable with all animals except for snakes. I am fine with dog walking, cleaning the litter box, feeding, AND medicating your animals.

I look forward to hearing from you! Please let me know if you have any questions.

We are currently looking to do a share with another family, preferably with a little one close to Azul's age... but we are open to other possibilities. Our nanny is absolutely amazing. Loving, caring, funny... she protects Azul as her own daughter. She had 5 big sons so she is very flexible with time and a lot of experience. We look forward to start the share asap! We live in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Please contact us if you are interested to know more about us, her and the share!

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Brooklyn, NY?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Brooklyn’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
