A little bit about me

I am a licensed nurse (LPN) and only working a couple weekend shifts a month to reduce any covid exposure! I currently do part time caregiving for an elderly couple in EGR, but am looking for something more consistent during the weekdays! I am one of seven children- that's not including my dog, Lucy. I love spending time with my family and friends. My time is mostly spent outdoors if the weather allows it! My love to read comes second to my love of sports. Soccer occupied a large part of my life growing up and through college and I enjoy playing when I can. Most people would consider me outgoing and reliable! I love forming new relationships and finding opportunities to mentor and motivate kids!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My experience nannying has mostly been related to summer jobs. Most often parents still need assistance with their children while at work. I have returned to many families several times during the school year for “date nights” and extra help other than summer hours for families that know me well. Those jobs all resided in Lowell and Ada. Other than summer hours, I spent part of a school year nannying a family in EGR. Mostly for pickup after school, help with homework and any housework needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Crafts that are mess-free :), any sports activities that your child is interested in, visits to my favorite public libraries, and finding new public hiking trails and parks!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Forming a trusting and honest relationship with any family I am nannying for! For me, that means; providing safe and secure care for your children.

My experience with special needs children...

During my enrollment at GRCC as a nursing student, we were required to fulfill clinical hours for our “pediatric” rotation. During this period of time, I was assigned to aide in the care and medication administration for children and young adults with special needs (ranging from Autism to Downs Syndrome) at Indian Trails summer camp in Allendale. The experience was very eye-opening and humbling. I have a special place in my heart for the proper care and patience for children with special needs. My younger brother has Downs, and my relationship with him has helped shape the caregiver I aspire to be.
