A little bit about me

I have been working with children since I was little and continued my love as a career in 2020! I have worked as a consistent babysitter for a family from their oldest daughter's age of 1 until her current age of 7! I have worked in daycare centers ranging from your regular state directed curriculum, to adapting to the Montessori classroom! I was also fortunate to work with two little girls (Two Years and 6 Months) as a nanny for a year until their mom decided to stay home! I love watching children gain their independence and explore everything has to offer! I love working with arts, building practical life skills and having a LOT of fun while doing it! I am currently employed as a Shift Manager for Starbucks: needless to say I thrive in a chaotic environment!

I love to cook and have a house full of pets (and a very messy husband) so helping with meal prep and housework is something I would love to help out with!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

- Art: Painting on windows is my favorite thing to do! I also love to create art using things that we find in nature (especially during the fall)
- Music: I love having dance parties and karaoke parties! I enjoy teaching kids about different types of music from all around the world as well as music throughout the decades (kiddo appropriate of course)
- Learning is very important, I enjoy flash cards, books, planned activities using things we find around the house (I was a lead toddler teacher for almost two years and planned my own curriculum)
- Going on adventures to learn about nature and experience life and culture
- Reading different books about any and everything!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that the most important part of being a nanny is being an extension of a parent. I understand it’s not easy to leave your child home while you're working, so I believe in taking care of each child as if they were my own. I believe in creating a safe space where a child can express themselves and have a lot of fun doing it!

My experience with special needs children...

I was fortunate enough to work in a special needs help program for a few years in high school where we would work with children who had down syndrome and autism!

As a lead teacher I also had a wonderful little girl who was non verbal, had seizures as well as delays with her motor skills! She holds a special place in my heart and has taught me so much about the value of patience and love.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is more of a babysitting moment, but for as long as I've been working with them they feel like family.

I have been around for all of the kiddos taking their first steps. Their oldest took her first steps in my room and their youngest took their steps as I was coming in to say goodbye before I left for the day. When it comes to their youngest, I hadn't gotten to spend as much time with him compared to the girls, but I always made sure he knew how loved he was. At my rehearsal dinner, the moment I saw him he began to take his first steps, and that truly meant the absolute world to me.
