The most important part about being a nanny is to be able to communicate well with the kids. Making sure to have a good balance between having fun and doing what needs to get down as far as homework or anything else. Being able to communicate with the kids helps them understand you better and helps them feel comfortable with you.

Although I have never babysat for a special needs child, I have volunteered at Makes Promises Happen which is a camp for kids to adults with special needs and much more.
