I worked in the infant room at my local YMCA daycare back in Maine. In Philadelphia I volunteer on the oncology unit at the Children's Hospital.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy doing outdoor activities with children, from walks and hikes to swimming and riding bikes! On rainy days I love a good craft project or making something in the kitchen (my cookies are amazing!)
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with special needs for many years. One of my first babysitting jobs was caring for a young man with down syndrome and his sister. I also studied special education for 2 years at the University of Maine at Farmington before switching to studying health science. During my years as a swim instructor I specialized in teaching children with disabilities.
