The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh absolutely the impact you have on a child’s life. As a trained and licensed speech therapist and family/child studies major, everything you do is an impression on a child’s life. They deserve your full attention and respect as their brains are rapidly developing everyday. (Also know the importance of speaking to your kiddos even before they are verbal. With brains so plastic, that’s a huge advantage in language development.)

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have a book/journal from my time working in speech that is titled ‘Things my patients have/had said that made me proud’ and I love taping in thank you notes, drawings or things of that nature they made me (including those I’ve nannied)! Other than that, one of the first two boys I nannied (I’m still proud to say) just committed to LSU baseball program. Everyday, I picked the boys up from school, made sure homework was done first, then we spend the rest of the time before mom coming home playing ball outside. Just happy to be a small factor in young kids/families lives and seeing the kiddos go on to do great things! :)
