A little bit about me

Hello : ) My name is Harriet (she/her). I am (almost!) 21, and the youngest of 4 girls. I grew up in the lakes region of NH, but currently reside on the north shore of MA! What was thought to be a short endeavor of nannying has become something I have fallen in love with. It is such a precious and wonderful way to spend your day with little ones, exploring and learning and getting to see the world through their little eyes. It is an honor that I cherish, when a family trusts me to care for their most precious treasures. As the youngest sister, I cherish my sisterhood, and the love of my siblings and our adventures. When we were young we used to go build forts, and be outside almost all day. It is still the most special, and we celebrate yearly with our sister-trip (camping!). I have limited room, so this is short - but I wanted to say I would love to chat, and learn about you, and share more about myself (as I would have many questions as a parent!). I hope we get the chance to chat!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Being out and about can be so wonderful and offer so many benefits! As I started to mention in my bio, as a child we spent all day outside building forts and fairy houses, to making homemade bread and playdough, and painting. I am ready to create a space of laughter, learning, and joy whether it is at the beach, in the forest, in the kitchen, making art etc. I adore finding local concerts, story hours, art classes, music classes etc. and attending them (age dependent). Engaging with the community, and then finding ways to bring that home (maybe going to the farmers market, and then making some food (with the kids - age dependent as well) - whether that be puree for babies or dinner for the family with children a little older!).

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most crucial aspect of being a nanny in my opinion is building a genuine and nurturing relationship with the children under my care. Forming a strong emotional connection establishes a foundation of trust and security that is essential for their overall well-being and development. This connection allows me to understand their needs, interests, and personalities on a deep level, enabling me to provide personalized care and guidance. Being a reliable and consistent presence in their lives contributes to their sense of stability and helps shape their growth in a positive and meaningful way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Here are a FEW because its impossible to choose one moment!
Exploring New Foods: Witnessing a little one's excitement as they tried new foods, beaming with a smile.

Elephant Noises - pure silliness: Sharing a playful moment with an 18-month-old and her twin sister while making lunch, as we all made elephant noises together. Simply enjoying laughing.

Awe of the World: Observing the wonder in a child's eyes as they experience the world, sharing their amazement as they look back at me.

Imaginative Adventures: Building a fairy house, rolling down a hill, and a heartwarming whisper of "I love you" from a child while we kept imagining and creating together was truly priceless.

Simple Snuggles: Holding a little one close and sharing quiet, cherished moments of snuggles and closeness.

These glimpses into a child's world have filled my heart with joy and gratitude. Each unique moment reminds me of the privilege and happiness that comes with being a part of a child's growth and discovery.
