A little bit about me

I am 24 years old. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and criminal justice from the University of North Florida. I am currently going back to school for my masters in LMHC. I was a nanny for almost the last 3 years working with a family full time with children ages 3 months to 9 years old. I love working with kids because I feel like a kid at heart. Almost all of my free time is spent with my family, mostly at Disney with my little brothers and my step daughters. After a year of teaching K-12 I’ve realized I prefer working with kids in a small group setting where I can make sure I’m being the best I can for every child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Patience, kids are going to throw tantrums and have bad days and that’s okay because as adults we always have to look deeper at the cause behind the behaviors. Behaviors are always a form of communication and it’s about finding what they are trying to communicate.

My experience with special needs children...

I personally have 3 siblings who are on the spectrum. In addition I worked with students with a wide variety of disabilities learning to adapt and accommodate lessons to their capabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is also my least favorite because of how bittersweet it was. My last day with the family I watched for almost three years saying goodbye took almost an hour because the kids and I were all crying and I got over 100 hugs that day.
