More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have nannied four different families over the past 5 years. I am also a teacher, so have worked with children in the school setting for a couple of years. This has been as an assistant teacher, a substitute, and a kids yoga teacher.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time with kids and helping them learn and grow. I am engaging, creative, and curious and help the people I spend time with understand how to be, too. One of my favorite activities to be curious about with children is going outside and talking about what's going on in nature. I enjoy having conversations with kids and connecting with them on their questions and passions, or helping them understand what those are. With my background in teaching, I also am adept at making games or experiences that are safe, educational, and exciting for all ages. I have high, and attainable, expectations for kids and tend to treat them as I would any other person. That means we would spend some time doing routines, such as cleaning up the messes we created.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love the connections that I form with a family when I am a nanny. I started nannying for a family in September of 2019 and within a month I already felt like I had been with them for years. On my birthday, they even surprised me with a little cake! Unfortunately, I was only able to be with them for a few months because the pandemic started shortly after. I still chat with this family and consider them friends; I am so glad I nanny because it allows me to have these types of unique experiences and to sort of become a part of another family.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked as a paraprofessional in an elementary school and got to work with a few children with differing abilities. A few of them were on the Autism spectrum and another did not understand information as quickly, or in a similar way, as his peers.
During my student teaching in undergrad, I worked closely with a six year old who had undiagnosed disabilities. He has both physical differing abilities as well as mental, one of which being difficulties with speaking aloud what he is thinking or may want to say.
All of these children just needed patience, reassurance, love, understanding, and creativity. I had a wonderful time working with all of them and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Denver, CO: Ontare V.
I have been a Colorado resident for over 5 years and have truly made Colorado my home. I was born and raised in Okemos, MI but spent summers on Lake Michigan. LMy current degree pathway is nursing and my interest in nursing comes from my love of caring for others. In my former careers, I was a hairdresser as well as a veterinary technician. These professions are what lead me to become a full-time nanny. I feel I can utilize my love for children as well as my passion for bringing others happiness by assisting parents in all aspects of their child's life. I started nannying part-time when I moved to Colorado, while also working at a veterinary practice. I found so much joy in being a nanny that I pursued a full-time position. That position has led to a 4-year adventure with a family who will be a significant part of my life forever. I will move on from my current position as the youngest child begins full-time kindergarten in August 2022.
