A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Henry, I have been working in professional childcare for about 4 years now, though my love and passion for working with kids spans back much further. At 12 I began babysitting my younger cousins, and as I grew older more relatives and family friends entrusted me to watch their children. At 17 I biked to a nearby daycare in my hometown where I applied for and received my first childcare job. I was very successful in my various positions, until I left my hometown to move here to Lincoln, NE. I arrived here in 2021 and immediately received a position at another childcare center. I was once again very successful in my various positions throughout my year and five months with my second center. This year I decided to leave the childcare center profession for the time being to focus on my education. I have had the privilege of extensive training thanks to my time with daycare centers and would like to extend that knowledge and gain a degree in early childhood education.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to create things, either through fun science experiments or elaborate art projects. Reading is another one of my favorite activities, I have an extensive library of diverse board, picture and chapter books I like to pick from to bring with me when I nanny. Music is a wonderful way to pass the time together as well, learning about instruments, playing with sounds and dancing around is always so much fun. Or just a simple nursery rhymes playlist in the background of playtime to enrich our day. Some of my favorite toys are Legos and Pokémon, though I'm almost always down to play whatever the kiddos have in mind. Outside time is important as well, and as long as weather permits I like to try to get the children out in the fresh air.
