A little bit about me

Hello my name is Irelynn, I’m a North Dakota native. My family moved to MN 8 years ago and I now I’m ready to finally join them and watch my 5 younger siblings grow up and attend there activities! I have been working with children for most of my life. While baby sitting at a young age and having siblings aging from 20-5 years old. In high school I worked at the after school program and through the summer I did this for 5 years. After high school I started working for Head Start as an assistant teacher. I received my CDA and then was promoted to a the Head teacher and got an Associates Degree In Early Childhood Development specializing with children with special needs. I’m currently wanting to relocate states. I currently nanny 4 boys after school and have many professional references. When I’m not working I like to stay busy, attending siblings sport events, traveling or personal time journaling and walking! I always have a positive attitude, I’m reliable, and a problem solver!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love outdoor activities, if we are stuck inside I like to keep children busy, by doing arts and crafts, building forts, building car ramps, playing games or just engaging in play with the toys and items they have and enjoy!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Taking care of children’s needs!! If that means feeding, diapers changed or providing napes I will definitely follow rules and schedule that is told to me! I love also having fun and creating naturing relationships with children, I want them to also feel safe in my care and also being able to laugh and make memories!

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve worked with children with special needs for 6 years now, children who are nonverbal so I know some basic sign language and strategies to help children’s language development. I also am patient and flexible I like trying to new ideas and ways to help support children’s needs if sensory items are needed or going to the park to let out big movements! I’m calm and would say my strength is helping promote emotional language, taking time to breath for a moment and letting children describe and say there emotions!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love when children are excited to me, the four boys I currently nanny at night make me pictures at school and give me them when I come to there house and it’s the kindest gesture and proves I make an impact on there life!
