Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered as a camp counselor for five summers with Camp Fire USA, and was a head counselor for three of those summers. In College I volunteered as and environmental educator for first and second graders through the organization Sprout up. This summer I will also be working at Challenge Aspen where I will be supporting kids with cognitive and physical disabilities in outdoor activities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time outside and going on nature walks/ hikes with kids or just playing at the park. I also love to be crafty and creative with kids and do art projects with them. When we need to be indoors I enjoy playing board games and doing puzzles with kids.
My experience with special needs children...
As a camp counselor I worked with a few special needs children, mostly autism. I also work at Challenge Aspen that provides outdoor opportunity for people with cognitive and physical disabilities and many of the participants are children.
