A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Isabel, I am a nanny with 4 years of childcare experience. My most recent experience has been as a live-in nanny after 1,5 year as an au pair. Before that, I used to be an ESL teacher to kids all ages. I have also taught children/teenagers with special needs. I am familiar with the Montessori method and try to always read books and keep my knowledge on raising children up to date.

Currently, I take care of a 4 year old and a 17 month old child full time and that includes a dedicated time of the day to teaching the 4 year old the letters of the alphabet and the numbers. In the mornings, I usually take them to the playground, to the museum, get them out of the house for a couple of hours.

I am bilingual in English and Portuguese and would love to talk to the kids in any language you prefer.

I drive everyday and have a clean driving record. I have never gotten a speeding ticket.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as an ESL teacher for kids, I have taught several classes and that would include preparing classes that would involve games, music, toys and anything that would help the kids on their learning process. I have also taught special needs children. Then, I was also an au pair and a live in nanny, caring for a baby and a toddler (that are now a toddler and a preschooler).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Taking the kids to the museum, taking them to nearby parks, doing arts and crafts, driving them to different places…

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to raise adorable little humans, being loved by them and loving them.

My experience with special needs children...

I have taught special needs children, children with ADHD and a teenager with multiple sclerosis. With the ADHD children, we would always get a lot more one-on-one time while also making sure that he was involved with the rest of the class. The teenager, Sabrina, that had multiple sclerosis was really easy and all I did different from other students was help her physically move from the waiting room into the classroom. She was a really smart and sweet girl, and I even heard she got into college recently.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Whenever the kids I take care of want to cuddle and tell me they love me.
