Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve volunteered at all kinds of summer camps for kids ages 3 to 14, including cheer and basketball camps, where I helped with activities, games, and keeping things fun and safe. I also helped out at a day camp where I spent time playing with the kids, helping with crafts, and just making sure they were having a good time. On top of that, I was part of Champions Together, a program that brings students of all abilities together through sports and fun events.

I love doing fun and creative activities with kids, like arts and crafts, building forts, and using our imaginations for pretend play. I enjoy being outside—going to the park, doing scavenger hunts, or playing games like tag and hopscotch. I also like helping kids learn through reading and fun games with letters and numbers. Baking together is always a hit, and I make clean-up part of the fun. For quiet time, I enjoy puzzles, music, and coloring.

The most important part about being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the child and their family. Truly understanding the child’s personality, needs, and routines, as well as what works best for the family, plays a big role in creating a safe and supportive environment. It’s about helping the child feel comfortable, happy, and engaged while also being adaptable and patient to support their growth and development.

One of my favorite nanny moments is when a child I care for randomly gives me a big hug or shares something they’re excited about. It’s those little moments of connection and trust that always brighten my day and remind me how special the relationship is.
