More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have cared for kids for a very long time. At 9 years old was my first time taking care of a baby which was my brother, at the age of 16 I started to take care of my cousins babies and toddlers when they needed a babysitter and my little cousins always tell me they enjoy their time with me and have fun when I’m watching them. I’ve had other children I have babysat for like this girl I became friends with 3 years ago and I would watch her 1 year old overnight while she worked and it would be from 8pm to 3am, I can work with any schedule when it comes to work, an emergency or even date night!:)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some indoor activities if the child is still learning to read or speak I would usually bring a book to help them start reading and to speak little by little with easy words, we could also do experiments that is pretty interesting like making a giant ice cube with tiny toys and they would have to chisel the ice for the toys like if they’re digging for treasure, it can be quiet entertaining for smaller children. For the older children if video games are allowed I would bring my Nintendo switch and we could play Mario party or Mario kart and it usually keeps older kids entrained playing games with others and learning on engaging with activities with others playing, or we could also bake some desserts so they could learn how to cook or bake If they’re allowed to be near a stove or oven. For outdoor activities we can do gardening, a water balloon fight, or even a walk to the park if there is one nearby to get that energy out! We could also just play basic games like tag or hide and seek!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me is being patient and understanding of the child of their feelings and needs. I always try to show kindness even if they’re being mean or having a tantrum, because having a negative reaction can make them feel scared or feel they can’t trust you. I always want the kids I work with to feel they could trust me and enjoy their time with me.
My experience with special needs children...
I have many experiences with children’s with special needs, I have a younger brother who is on the autism spectrum and I have been taking care of him since he was a newborn and he is now 13 years old, I also have experience with these two boys who I used to babysat for this woman I worked for and they were sweet boys and they mainly just liked to show me their toys and videos and I would try to read with them or build something with them with their blocks, sometimes they just enjoyed watching tv as well lol. I have helped my brother calm down when he would have his tantrums or outbursts and we try doing a breathing method where we stop and breathe and think, it helps calm him down. I am willing to work with any schedule if I work with your special needs child, every child deserves to be treated with kindness and patience, no matter what.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I had a group of kids I was babysitting for, it was about 4 which were my younger cousins from ages 5-9 and we walked to a park that was nearby and they all played together and enjoyed their time together and afterwards I drove them all to McDonalds for some lunch and they played even more in the playground burning more energy off and afterwards everyone was taking a nap lol. It was nice to let the kids have some fun and play with other children so they can learn to be around others and get along with other kids and then treating them to a nice lunch, it just makes me feel nice. :)
