Dielle S. - Seeking Work in El Paso

Hourly rate14.28 / hour

Most recently, I worked full-time (50 hours a week) with a family in Hawaii with two children aged 6 months and 3 years. I worked mostly with the infant as I was at home with him the whole day while the parents were at work. I was responsible for the care, nutrition (breast milk and solids) and entertainment of the little one. While working with this family, I also helped with light house work. I was with this family for 4 months before I relocated to El Paso, Texas. While in South Africa completing my second degree, I worked with a family of 7. The children that I took care of were all boys ranging from 2 to 14 years in age when I first started with the family. While with this family I did homework and projects with the children, transported them to sport and other activities and took the children out on excursions. At times, I would also prepare meals for the family, run errands, do grocery shopping and handle administrative tasks. The parents would often go away for extended periods, I would stay at the house with the children during these periods. I LOVED working for this family. I was with them for just under 2 years. While completing my undergraduate degree, I worked for a German family with 2 children. I was responsible for transporting the children to and from school, sport events and other activities, and also assisting them with homework and projects. Both parents went away a lot, I would stay at the house with the children when they did this. I was with this family for just over a year.

I have spent the last ten years helping raise my three little sisters from ages ranging from infants to teenagers! I would watch them on a daily basis constantly helping my mother babysitting them, feeding them, and most of the time doing light housework while I watched them. Also I started babysitting other families children from the time I was 13, ranging from all ages! I've spent practically caring my whole life for children and I absolutely love it.

I have worked with children for over ten years now. I first started working with Kindergarten aged children in high school (2002-2004). While in college, I began an internship at a school and was certified through their program. I have since worked in classrooms with children ranging from 2 months old, to 14 years old. Working with children was not my first choice in career, but once I started working with them, it became obvious to me that my personality is very compatible with theirs. I'm patient in working with infants and toddlers, and don't mind the crying that often comes along with that position. I am understanding and empathetic to school aged children, and do my best to fit their needs.
