Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've spent years working directly with kids in behavioral health settings, learning how to hold steady through meltdowns, big feelings, and hard moments without losing warmth or patience. Before that, I worked at a play therapy practice, so I've been around kids and families through all kinds of days, not just the smooth ones. My background is rounded out by a psychology degree and over a decade in theatre, so structure and play come naturally together for me: I know how to set boundaries kids actually respond to, while still being the person who makes their day genuinely fun. Parents can expect someone dependable who also brings real energy to the job, not just supervision!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I bring a lot of imagination into everyday play, character voices, pretend worlds, and made-up games. Since it's peak summer, I love getting outside: parks, sprinklers, bubbles, chalk, running around until everyone's happily worn out. I'm just as happy indoors on a hot afternoon, building forts, doing crafts, reading, or baking together, which is genuinely one of my favorite things to do with kids. My goal is to match their energy, full speed outside, when they want to move. Cozy and creative inside when they need to slow down.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with children with autism and behavioral needs through work as a certified behavior technician at an ABA clinic, along with time around neurodivergent kids at a play therapy practice. I bring patience, structure, and a calm presence to children with a range of needs.
