More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a nanny to a disabled boy(infant-3years) in college, and have been a babysitter for many friends. I am in school for pediatric medicine, and would like to work in Hartford Children's Hospital.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to hike, go on biking trails, ride horses, try to play soccer and throw footballs! Being outside is so fun, and really important. Kids need to be kids while they can, but there are also so many cool things that nature can teach us. I also love doing art and chemistry projects with kids. Making homemade play doh or teaching them to bake is really fun for everyone.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is an honor to me because it means that someone trusts me to care for their most precious things on earth when they aren't around. I also think it takes a lot of courage to not try to do everything yourself. You deserve self care, to be able to do your job, whatever is going on, and not trying to spread yourself too thin. I think it absolutely takes a village to raise kids, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't have my own babies, and don't know if I can, so I genuinely appreciate anyone opening up their lives to me. This is a huge deal, and I don't take that lightly.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with autism, adhd and down syndrome. I actually have seizures. They are under control with medicine, but it taught me to notice warning signs in others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had an adorable moment babysitting my friend's children. I love when toddlers want to try role reversal and for me to teach them how to be the "mama." They try to help take care of their older siblings. It's the sweetest.
