The most important part about being a nanny is being a safe space for children. I was once a child too, and one of the things I valued most was having familiar, trustworthy adults around me. Growing up and attending daycare, the feeling I wanted most was comfort, familiarity, and knowing there was someone I could trust. Because of that, it is important to me to create a safe, supportive, and positive environment where children feel heard, valued, and comfortable being themselves. Building trust with both the children and their parents, while helping children learn, grow, and have fun, is what makes being a nanny so meaningful to me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I included a child I was caring for in my college Environmental Biology final project, with permission from his parents. He was excited to learn about ways we can help protect our planet, and it was rewarding to see him become engaged in the project. He even wanted to share what he learned with his classmates and encourage others to make environmentally friendly choices. Seeing his enthusiasm for learning and making a positive impact made the experience especially meaningful.
