I love to keep children engaged in age appropriate activities. They could be walks in the parks, going to the playgrounds or taking advantage of all the library programs that are available such as story time. All these activities are both socially and developmentally beneficial.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters the most about being a nanny is building a special relationship between yourself and the child. You watch them grow into their own little personalities
I love the way they come to you because that means they trust and feel comfortable with whatever they may need.
Another part is giving the parents peace of mind that they entrusted their little one in my care.
I create a safe , fun, structured environment that children feel safe and parents feel confident and comfortable.
Obviously as a nanny your main responsibility is taking care of a child, but it’s also to give parents a sense of comfort, trust and peace of mind that their little ones are taking care of safety.
When I returned to work after my maternity leave was over, I was apprehensive about leaving my daughters in someone else’s care. Our nanny was amazing in every aspect that it made me feel relaxed and comfortable so i was able to concentrate while at work.

My experience with special needs children...
I was a teacher’s assistant for a special education class. I’ve taught from nursery through elementary school.
I was assigned as a one on one to a one year old little girl with autism.
I was also assigned as a one on one to a little boy who was hearing impaired. I assisted him with learning to use an iPad for communication. I would make sure he kept calm and praised him during the course of the day to build his confidence to help him complete his work.
I helped with the educational, social and emotional development of the students.

When Brooke, was two I had just have her lunch. She gets up from the kitchen table and takes my hand. She sits on my lap and says “ You didn’t have breakfast. Let’s both have lunch “. She kissed me and says “Let’s eat!”

I've been babysitting children of all ages since I was 15. I volunteered at a local Daycare in high school and I covered my older sister's nannying job for a 6-month-old and a 2 1/2-year-old when she was not able to work. I have a sister who is 5 years younger than me, so growing up I was always there assisting my mom with what she needed which taught me a lot about kids. At school, I am a Psychology major and a Human Development minor and one of the things we spend a lot of time learning about are children, their development, and what type of children need what type of things. I love being outdoors, and I have a young soul so I can keep kids entertained for hours! I have grown up playing sports, and I have spent lots of time volunteering for rec sports programs.
