A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Jackie, I'm a lifelong caretaker who loves arts and crafts, reading, getting out into nature, and music! I've worked as a nanny or babysitter/ tutor for the majority of my life, I’m always looking for and coming up with new exciting ways to learn and teach. I take great pride in being a good part of the foundation of our future through being a warm, compassionate, supportive person in the lives of children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started as a babysitter of 5 kids as a young teen, the youngest of which had downs syndrome (she was such a big personality I love her 💗) and from there I was a reoccurring babysitter for larger family homes who's parents needed a night out ❤.
I've worked with all nationalities, races, backgrounds and all over the spectrum of abilities and and mental capabilities. No kid is without their challenges, but I'm confident that I can bridge any gaps there may be.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Puzzles, reading, learning games, cooking, and songs! Any songs they like, I'll try to incorporate it into daily cleanup or things they show interest in learning. Music is a great way to teach a child anything

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is keeping in mind that you are a part of a person's foundation. The little one is little now but one day that person has to go out and live a life. How can I as a nanny contribute to being a solid part of that person's foundation? What can I teach or tell them or give them to give them the best chance at being a healthy, happy human being? How can I support a little one’s family in doing the same?

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with children with both autism and down syndrome respectively, as well as children with Learning disabilities, adhd, or mental health struggles. Willing to learn more!
