A little bit about me

▪︎Hello there!

▪︎My name is Miss Jackie and I'm looking to get out of the daycare life after several years!
▪︎I have 3 years experience in infant rooms (6 weeks-18 months), 1 year with 2 year old, 3 years with 3-4 year olds, and about a year of miscellaneous ages. My students have been some of my best friends and I love getting cards from them!
▪︎I like to get outside nearly daily with the littles to play and explore! (Even in winter; admittedly not my favorite season by far.)
▪︎I like to foster independence as much as possible to enable kids to grow into self-reliant and responsible people.
▪︎I have certifications in child safety, brain development, CRP, first aid, mandatory reporting, and more.

▪︎A few things of note:
▪︎I raised my sisters and am familiar with homeschooling curriculums.
▪︎I'm allergic to cats.
▪︎I sing frequently- my mind is a search engine of children's songs.
▪︎I know maybe 300 signs in ASL and some French and Spanish.

Aside from seven years of daycare:
▪︎I babysat weekly as a teenager
▪︎I volunteered weekly for Mother's of Preschoolers group [phone number hidden]) and a church nursery (approx. [phone number hidden])
▪︎I spend tons of time with my niece and nephews!! ♡♡♡
▪︎I babysit for several families from my daycare- usually once a month
▪︎I've mentored a few teen girls over the years- having kid sisters was a huge part of this.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

▪︎Reading! I love libraries and reading outloud.
▪︎Documenting! I take pictures of activities.
▪︎Messes! Mud, sand, shaving cream, paint, oobleck, snow-dough, baking soda with vinegar and color, all of it!
▪︎Playing! Imagination is so important. Whether it's running a restaurant or putting on a three little pigs play or blasting off into space.
▪︎Building! Blocks, car tracks, bridges of out sticks, towers.
▪︎Crafting - with anything that inspires. Stickers, glue sticks, paper, etc.
▪︎Yoga - (Yo Re Mi is the greatest for kids)
▪︎Hugs! Hug breaks are a daily part of my classroom activities.

▪︎"My brother giggled in my face when I woke up today, so that's why I have to be goofy."
▪︎"UGH, you scared me out of my lungs!"
▪︎I also love how every 4 year old I know pronounces caterpillar as "callapitter."
