Hi! I’m Jada Outten, a Senior at the University of Louisville and the oldest cousin of 14, so caring for kids has always felt natural to me. I have three years of childcare experience, and some of my favorite memories come from working with foster children and kids who needed a little extra patience and love.

I adore finding ways to make kids smile, helping them explore their interests, and creating routines that make them feel safe and understood. Many of the children I’ve worked with still reach out to chat with me with permission, and it reminds me that the bond we build really matters.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been substitute teaching for over a year for a range of age groups. I have worked for three summers with UofL’s Upward Bound program, mentoring high school students and preparing them for college life. Lastly, I worked in residential care with age groups 5-15; These children were either wards of the state, or temporarily in our care. We assisted them in finding foster homes, or helped the other children find new coping habits to support their transition back into their homes!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I LOVE painting. Any arts and crafts are great at expanding your mind and fostering new ideas. I also enjoy outdoors time, and view that time as very grounding and relaxing; It helps kids release energy! I also enjoy cooking and baking, so include the kiddos in child-safe baking recipes.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building connection with the parents/guardians to ensure their kids receive the best care, and are receiving consistency from everyone that cares for them!
