A little bit about me

I am a currently professional caregiver registered with Trust line background check, with 8+ years in professional childcare, experience in classroom settings ages 6months - 12 years, and 4 years experience in Pediatric medical assisting. I am also CPR certified. As a teachers assistant, I lead homework assistance, STEM crafts, and outdoor activities. I grew up hands-on and curious climbing trees, taking things apart, always asking how something worked and that instinct still shapes how I approach childcare today. I adapt easily and stay attentive to what’s actually needed in the moment. I see this work as a true partnership with parents finding the right rhythm and approach together, for your family specifically. I’m also glad to support the household more broadly, from meal preparation to organization to everyday upkeep, whatever helps things run smoothly. I’d welcome the chance to talk further and find out if we’re the right fit for each other.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a teacher’s and daycare assistant, I guided children’s growth all day, every day, using Montessori methods, STEM activities, and a focus on emotional intelligence — from meals and tutoring to comfort and encouraging independence. I also work in pediatrics, where I care for children through every part of their visit, helping them feel calm, safe, and comforted, even in unfamiliar or scary moments. Together, this gives me the hands-on caregiving experience, teaching background, and gentle approach to provide steady, attentive care in long-term settings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With older kids, I love bringing games outside like “Sharks and Minnows” (fancy words for tag!) to get them active and laughing together. But what brings me the most joy is STEM-focused play egg drops to explore engineering, building shapes with marshmallows and pretzels for hands-on math, and treasure hunts that spark exploration and problem-solving. Anything that makes their eyes light up and gets their gears turning is incredibly gratifying to me. I also love creating space for kids to express themselves, whether that’s through a creative project or a simple, meaningful conversation over snack time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is communication with parents just as much as with the children in my care. A child’s safety and happiness will always come first, but I also believe the whole family should feel supported. I make it a priority to keep parents informed and involved, so that everyone, from the child to the caregivers, feels cared for and at ease.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve worked with a wide range of differently-abled children — from those using wheelchairs to children with physical and cognitive disabilities. In pediatrics, I’ve cared for children with Down syndrome, ADHD, anxiety, autism, and cerebral palsy, and I’ve learned how to build enough trust and calm with each child to safely perform necessary care, especially in pediatric settings, including injections and medication administration. As a teacher’s assistant, I also worked closely with special needs children in the classroom, using methods that kept them fully integrated with their peers while still honoring their individual needs. Several parents have shared how much they appreciated my ability to keep their child calm and comfortable, which is something I take a lot of pride in.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was working one-on-one with an 18-month-old who had developmental delays and wasn’t yet walking or speaking when we met. Through diligent, consistent care, I watched him grow into a child who now walks quickly, speaks in identifiable words, and can express his needs and wants. He’s learning his colors and numbers and has become so much more expressive along the way. Watching that growth happen right in front of me was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
