More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
With nearly 20 years of experience, I’ve worked as a lead infant and preschool teacher, full-time nanny, private in-home preschool provider, early childhood education coordinator, children’s swim instructor, children's gymnastic instructor, and camp counselor. I’ve supported children from birth through age 12 in both home and school settings, offering individualized, developmentally informed care. My background includes academic/group care settings, long-term family placements, curriculum-based teaching, and collaborative support.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I design activities that spark curiosity while supporting development—always keeping in mind a child’s age and interests. Some favorites include: building solar ovens to explore science, making chalk paint murals outdoors, and practicing early math through cooking and measuring. I might use puppets for social learning, set up obstacle courses or play freeze dance for gross motor fun, or go on a 'letter sound' scavenger hunt! My goal is to use play to facilitate learning in every aspect of the day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The early childhood years are where social-emotional skills, communication, regulation, and brain development take root, and that process deserves more than supervision. It deserves intentional, developmentally informed, individualized care. As a nanny, I work at the intersection of care, education, and family partnership to build the skills that can determine a child's future. My role isn’t just with the child. It's also a partnership with the parents. I collaborate closely with families, offering not only hands-on care but also modeling best practices, sharing science-backed strategies, and helping navigate behaviors, routines, and milestones with empathy and clarity. Every child is different, and so is every family. I meet each of them where they are with respect, warmth, and real expertise.
This career is so much more than caregiving. This is brain-building. This is co-regulation and team work. It’s a multi-faceted journey and when I do my job well, it is actually life-changing.

My experience with special needs children...
While I do not exclusively specialize in special needs care, I have experience supporting neurodivergent children and those with behavioral or developmental differences. I served as a nanny to a child on the autism spectrum and have worked with students in classroom settings who required individualized support. I have formal training in inclusive practices and am trained to identify early signs of developmental delays, autism, or learning challenges, and can assist families in navigating early intervention referrals. My approach is developmentally informed, responsive, and tailored to each child’s needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most meaningful moments in my career came during my time as a private preschool teacher during COVID. I was working one-on-one with a bright and sensitive four-year-old who struggled with emotional regulation and was easily overwhelmed. Over time, we used storybooks, emotion labeling, and calming strategies to help him better understand and express his feelings. One day, as he began to escalate, he paused, took a deep breath, and said, “I’m feeling very Bombaloo right now—I need to take calming breaths to cool my body down.” (Bombaloo came from one of the books we had been reading). Afterward, he gave me a big hug and said, “You helped me teach my body to be calm.” It was an unforgettable turning point—and a reminder of how deeply this work impacts not just the moment, but a child’s lifelong tools for resilience.
