Hi! My name is Jakira, I’m 20 years old. I have 9+ years of childcare experience, caring for children from newborns through school age. I’m Licensed CNA, BLS/CPR certified, and have hands-on healthcare support experience. I attend Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology 100% online, giving me the flexibility to be present and available for the family. I’m also studying American Sign Language (ASL) because I enjoy continuously expanding my ability to communicate and care for others.

Outside of childcare, I’m very passionate about fitness, wellness, healthy eating, and holistic living. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing outside mostly! My favorite is just being right in the front or backyard, going on walks within the community, or taking them to parks/recreation places so they can explore the wonders of the world. I also enjoy making homemade crafts and toys depending on the age to expand their curiosity and development. I think my favorite so far has been taking a child to the zoo or a kids indoor playground. The joy I see when they are able to experience the different animals, making other friends and figuring out themselves, I thinks it beautiful and makes me feels proud.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Seeing how happy family’s are when they have trusted help and also knowing that you’ve taken part in someone’s development and growth over the years, just being there and present so that child can become the person they were always born to be.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs is limited. I’ve cared for a child with a rare developmental disorder where she was around 1 years old but had the intellect of a 6 month old. Others were ADHD, ADD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When the parents come home and see how good their child is or when they come home and they are just so relieved and happy that I was able to help them. It really makes me melt because I know that I means a lot to parents.
