A little bit about me

I have a niece and nephew I have watched periodically since they were really small. They are 6 and 8 now. I still babysit on occasion. I have 8.5 years of experience caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities often requiring intensive care, feedings, appropriate food preparation to safe consistencies, administering medications, planning extracurricular activities that are enjoyable for their mental age, showering, taking them to/scheduling appts and all direct care needs they require. Many of the adults with disabilities I have worked with have had child-like mentality. I also managed a group home for 6, almost 7 years. I have alot of experience with taking care of people with all different needs/backgrounds and ensuring a safe and happy environment for them to thrive in. I am not certified for CPR/First Aid through NYS but have taken those trainings at least a dozen times over the years of my experience in the field of caregiving.
