My favorite moment was when working with a client who had very little verbal ability. Interacting and talking to her in a way she could understand - one day her dad took her to a doctor's appoint. While they were waiting on the doctor, she turned to her dad and said "Dad can I use your phone". He was so shocked, he started to cry . He did not know that his daughter could talk.
Also One day I had her write something on a sheet of paper and had her read it to her dad. He was surprised and elated, because he did not know she could have read.
