More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a student aid in the kindergarten class at my high school for three years, and I learned how to care for a younger children. I also have for younger siblings that I helped take care of on a daily basis so I know how to care for newborns all the way up to 10 year olds. I also helped watch high school students when their parents needed me to take them to games or bring them to and from school. I basically just did whatever the parent needed in order to get a break.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like taking kids to the park or zoo so they can learn while they’re having fun. I’ve also helped go over educational things with children so that they don’t fall behind in their studies if they are missing a day or can’t make it to school in general for example, if they are homeschooled, I will go over whatever the parent needs them to learn at the time. I like to make sure children are having fun, but in an educational way, so if we go to the zoo, I will ask them what an animal is, or if they know what the animal says someway to get their brain moving while they are having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me most about being a nanny is the children. When I babysit a child they’re health and happiness is my top priority. Im not just going to let a child stay on a couch with a tablet and some chips. I’ll go get them a healthier snack and we could go outside and get some fresh air. I also let the parents know that if I babysit their kids they’ll have a way of being educated no matter what we do whether it be counting carrots we eat or telling me their emotions. They’re not going to lose out on educational opportunities when I’m with them.

My experience with special needs children...

When I aided in the kindergarten class at my high school there were some students who needed some extra attention, I helped take care of those students without it being an issue with helping take care of other students as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory of babysitting was when I babysat a 9 year old boy and in order for him to get ice cream we made a deal that he would be in bed by 9:30. We’ll 9:30 rolls around and I was hiding in the closet because he initiated a nerf war. I like that I’m able to have fun with the kids I watch so that they can have happy memories no matter what they’re going through.
