Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My first job was as a summer camp counselor, where I worked with children ranging from five to sixteen years old. This role gave me hands-on experience planning activities, managing groups, and providing individual support especially for children with autism. In addition to that, I’ve often helped out informally with family and friends’ kids, which has taught me how to be patient, responsible, and nurturing in different situations. These experiences have strengthened my love for working with children and shaped the way I care for them with respect, attention, and genuine kindness.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing fun and creative activities with kids like arts and crafts, playing outside, and making up silly games together. I also enjoy reading books to them, helping with learning activities, and doing simple baking or snack-making when it’s safe and age-appropriate. I find that kids really open up when they’re having fun, so I always try to match their energy and make sure they feel seen, safe, and included in whatever we’re doing.

My experience with special needs children...

During my time working as a summer camp counselor, I had the opportunity to work with children who had special needs, including two in particular who made a lasting impact on me. Through consistency, patience, and care, I was able to build a very trustworthy bond with both of them. It taught me the importance of understanding each child’s unique needs and communication style. That experience helped me grow not only as a caregiver but also as a person, and it deepened my passion for creating safe, inclusive spaces where every child feels valued and supported.
