More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
At my time at the YMCA i started as an aide. My duties as an aide were to come up with activities that were fun and also educationally enriching, making snacks, distributing medications and helping with homework. During summer/winter/spring breaks we took the children to the pool, to museums and did other activities. We were sent to multiple classes that aided us in better understanding child development and what we can do to make their childhood experience more fulfilling.
In those 4 years i then promoted to a teacher/supervisor where i was in charge of roughly 30 children with the help of aide. In that time i also worked as a “one on one” with special needs students as needed within the program.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going on walks, swimming, making crafts, doing small science projects, watching movies or shows, playing outdoor games or board games, dancing, helping with homework or projects. Im willing to learn any games your child might enjoy that i am also not familiar with.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny would be gaining the trust of the parents and child. I think trust is the key component of any relationship. The parents are trusting me with their most precious and irreplaceable thing in the world, and children need to trust me in order to feel comfortable being themselves and have confidence that i can be there when their parents arent.
My experience with special needs children...
Special needs children i have worked with have included children with ADHD,Autism and OCD. I would work with these children before and after school as well as during spring/winter/summer breaks. I have worked with non verbal children as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories with one of my students was during summer camp. I had been sent to another school who needed teachers and i saw one of my regular students during the year walk in and she ran up to me, excited to see me. We started coloring and talking and she looked at me and said “you're gonna be a good mom one day”. It was a really special moment for me that i think about often.
Another moment i think about is when i decided to leave the YMCA due to finding another job and my students started crying asking me not to leave, it was very emotional for me as i had seen some of them grow up and i truly haven’t forgotten them.
