More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a learn-to-skate instructor for 5 years. I made sure the children were having fun while learning to ice skate and I provided a safe environment for them, and those around them. I also have babysat and nannied over the summers for many years, for various families and ages of children. I made meals for the kids, played board games, took them to parks, and much more. I have also made sure they go to bed on time, with everything they need to do so. Lastly, I have volunteered at many elementary school dances, such as the daddy-daughter dances and special needs dances, in which I worked with many children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really like taking the kids for walks, driving them to nearby parks, going to the library and looking for books to check out, playing board games, and so much more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nany is forming a bond with the children. Having a trusting relationship with the kids is very important to make sure they will listen to you but still have fun. It is also of course very important to ensure their safety.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with many special needs children over the years. At my previous learn-to-skate job, I worked with a 4-year-old girl who had autism and made sure she enjoyed ice skating. I have also babysat for a young girl with Down syndrome, and we did coloring pages and much more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments were when the young girls and boys would do a drawing, coloring page, or write me notes that they would give to me. I found it very sweet, and have kept all of them to this day.
