I’m an ECE,Child&Youth worker and also did certificate programs for working with individuals with different developmental needs with a focus on autism. I have worked in childcare centers, as a private nanny and most recently in a center for adults with “specials needs”.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I usually follow the child’s lead and play what they want to play. If educational goals or plans are mandated, I will implement and come up with games and activities to facilitate those. I enjoy arts & crafts as well as anything outdoors parks, swimming, adventures.
My experience with special needs children...
I went to school for a developmental service worker program. I have worked with some younger children with “special needs” while working in child care centers. I have a lot of experience working with youth and adults with special needs from working at an adult day program.
