A little bit about me

Hi Families. I was a nanny for various families for 20 years until I took a break to go back to school and get my BA. I'm very intelligent and happy to help with homework. I enjoy working in a home environment, being around children and doing domestic chores. I'm happy to run errands and make meals. I helped one family in Michigan for almost six years and another family in Vermont for about three years. I loved being part of both family's lives. I am open to either full-time or part-time work depending on family needs and the compensation offered. Most of my experience is with children ages newborn to ten, but I am open to a new adventure working alongside a family with older children. I am an Orthodox Christian and love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, but you don't need to be Christian for me to love your family and work hard to care for you. I have references I will share once we determine that we may want to work together. God bless your search for the perfect care!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Tom Booms -
I nannied for the Booms family in Michigan from the time their first son was one month old through the birth of their next two sons - just shy of six years.

Kris Rosner -
I nannied for the Rosner family in Vermont as a live-in for about 2.5 years. Kris was a widower, so this was more of a substitute mom position. His son had just turned four and his daughter was six and a half when I arrived.

Sonu Varghese and Rinu Samuel -
I nannied for the family's infant daughter from the time she was 7 months until she was 13 months.

Heidler Family-
I cared for the family's 7- and 10- year-old sons after school, helping with laundry, transportation to after-school activities and household projects.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Coloring
Reading
Sledding
Taking walks
Swimming
Craft projects
Educational activities
Playing at the park
Taking trips to the museum
Doing puzzles
Playing board games
Buildings sand castles
Shopping with them for school clothes/ other items
Going out for tea with their dolls
Playing cars
Playing with action heros
Building with all sorts of materials (and maybe knocking the resulting structure over! :-))
Cooking
Baking
Gardening and Grocery shopping (encourages an adventurous pallette)
Thinking up stories, writing them down and "publishing" them
Naming and admiring flowers
Watching the clouds
Playing catch
Trying to catch the tickle bug that escaped from my pocket :-)
Bike riding
Giving wagon rides
Open to most any kind of fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is being all in. You must actually love kids and enjoy serving. Everything else you do flows from that.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for a little one with a genetic disorder causing neurological issues, significant developmental delays, seizures and gastrointestinal issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

LOL. I was caring for the Booms' eldest son and his mom's best friend's son one afternoon. They were both about 2 years old at the time. We were climbing the stairs to reach the changing table for a diaper change. They were both in front of me so I could keep an eye on them as we went. As we climbed, the Booms' son, Thomas, passed gas. Both boys stopped, looked at each other, and cracked up laughing. At that moment, they both seemed to pass from babyhood to being little boys. Seems odd to say about passing gas, but it was not only a very funny moment, but it was also quite poignant.

I'm 22 years old. I've been caring for children in my family since I was 11, as that is the age I became an aunt. I would help my mom with nap time and changing diapers whenever we babysat, and I loved interacting with him. I started receiving payment summer of 2023 when I would babysit my 8-month-old nephew during the week while my sister was working. He is now 3 years old, and my first nephew is now 16. We still look after them from time to time, mainly the little one, and we love doing educational activities while watching his favorite show: Bluey!
