Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Nature walks, dancing, singing, art projects, physical activity, and creating games using the imagination. I love reading books and sharing impromptu stories that I make up on the spot. Board games, puzzles, and word/writing games are my favorite! I also love doing crafts and activities that are inspired by which ever season we are in. I try to make snack and meal time as aesthetically pleasing and interactive as possible. Nourishing ourselves is such a special human experience and I prioritize sharing the beauty of food with little ones.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping a light heart, a steady demeanor, solid boundaries, and sharp senses. Things can change in the blink of an eye, and the four qualities listed above have kept me level headed despite the unpredictability of life!
My experience with special needs children...
My nephew was born in 2012 and was diagnosed with autism by the age of four due to delays in his speech. I cared for my nephew three days a week during the first five years of his life. I learned so much about the world through the lens of autism and neuro-diverse minds from our relationship and they have been invaluable to me.
I also worked for Alta California Regional Center in Grass Valley for a year as a Service Coordinator. I managed 87 cases with folks ranging from 19-87 years old and up with just about any diagnosis you could think of.

Young ones have a way of reminding you that there is beauty and magic in all experiences, and I’m very grateful for their perspective of the expanding world around them.
Some of my fondest memories with kids involve trips to different bodies of water. When I was caring for my nephew, I had the honor of planning his first river and ocean trips. I loved hearing his hypothesis on how the river came to be or how the rise and fall of the oceans tide felt on his feet and ankles.
Once he was older, I was able to explain to him the water cycle and the way all of the different bodies of water work together to nourish the globe.
When I was going to community college I was a nanny for a single mom of three children. We spent every Thursday and Sunday together when their mom was at nursing school. The kids were close in age and very interested in the world of food, so every Sunday we would explore a new breakfast recipe together. It was the highlight of my week.

Hello,
I am a 56 year old active female. I am retired from Law Enforcement (Corrections). I am a grandma but my bundle of joy resides in Germany and I only see her twice a year. I have lots of love to give. I can get my cpr certificate (mine has expired). I would love to help you and your family and would provide the love and attention your little one needs. I do ask for three weeks (non-paid) vacation twice a year so I can fly to Germany to see my sweetheart. She comes to visit here in the states once a year and would want to be able to have time to spend with her when she is visiting. Besides those times, I am all yours and ready to by a surrogate grandma for your little one.

Hey, I’m Emilia
I’m 23 years old and I’m come from Germany.
The last two years I lived in Brasil where I mostly worked with children, woodwork and in a coffee.
Before I worked for three years in Germany helping family’s with their children, house and garden.
Now I’m here in California since five weeks and because I love it so much here, I would love to find some work to stay a little bit more.
I would be very happy to get to know your family and help where I can.
Sincerely, Emilia

Part-Time Nanny Available in Nevada City, CA: Jordan P.
My name is Jordan, and I'm 20 years old. I graduated from Nevada Union Highschool with knowledge on theater production and art. I grew up raising my little brother for most of my life since age 7 so I have a grasp on taking care of children, my only issue would be not knowing how to cook, but I am currently trying to work on that. I keep myself clean and tidy and try to be my best possible self.
I am leaving for school in Japan this coming January and need to save up money. I would be grateful if you consider me for this position!
