I collaborated with licensed therapists to implement individualized treatment plans, supported sensory integration activities, and helped facilitate progress in attention, memory, and executive functioning skills.

One of my most memorable moments as an occupational therapy assistant student was during a cooking activity with a young boy on the autism spectrum. He was initially hesitant to touch any of the ingredients, especially the sticky ones like raw egg and dough. So we turned it into a sensory game first just tapping the egg with a spoon, then cracking it into a bowl like a “science experiment.” Before long, he was fully engaged, measuring flour with surprising precision and naming each step out loud like a cooking show host.
