A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Jessica and I love caring for little ones! I have spent over 10+ years working in different childcare settings, baby sitting, nannying, and even becoming a Children's Director for the children's program at our church. I used to teach Taekwondo to children of all ages as a black belt instructor and had great relationships with the families I taught - the children learned self defense, teamwork, self discipline and how to have fun exercise! At the same time I also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, teaching kids how to swim and was CPR and First Aid certified. I taught children from ages 1 to 12 about every level of swimming and was SSI certified to instruct. Majoring in Developmental Psychology at Liberty University, I studied techniques and educational activities to help children grow and have fun learning through positive reinforcement. I believe children are blessings and I find it such a joy to care for and watch over them.

I worked as a Children's Director for a local church, was a teacher/private tutor, taught swimming and martial arts, led many camps and small groups, and nannied and babysat for over 10+ years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

In non-Covid times, I love to take the children exploring in safe and fun areas, like museums to learn about art and history, the park where we can play games and get some energy out, and to the zoo to learn about animals and the environment (I used to work at the Georgia Aquarium on the dolphin team and worked at a zoo for over 10 years, so there is always something fun to learn and explore). Inside activities can be just as fun! I like to be creative and do arts and crafts projects, inside hide and seek, read books, sing and play theater (with puppets or dress up), and help the kids finish any chores, homework, etc. they need to do in a fun and encouraging manner!
