A little bit about me

I am an Early Education Professional with 6 total years of experience nannying, as well as working in classrooms with children ages birth through age 5. I also have experience working with children who have special needs and conditions. As I have worked in the field, I have obtained my Associates Degree at Lansing Community College in Child Development and Early Education. I have also expanded my education to include becoming CPR/First Aid Certified, as well as continued to learn Baby Signs to aid infants and toddlers in building their communication skills. Overall, I have found working with children and families to be a very rewarding experience. I love engaging children with books, song, and toys, as well as teaching them more about everyday materials and helping them gain independence while using them. I also believe that some of the best learning comes from messy, open-ended activities where children are able to test their own ideas. These can be done indoors and outdoors, and I often encourage children to help with clean-up at their own level.

The most important part of being a nanny is providing consistent care to children as they grow and development. Nanny's are also important to families because it allows parents and caregivers the peace of mind, knowing that their child is comfortable and safe as they take on life's responsibilities.

I have cared for children with special needs in multiple classroom settings, as well as nannied for children with special needs. I am excited to learn about your child's disability and how I can best care for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are in the simple, everyday moments that can only happen through one-on-one interactions with children. For example, recently I had the pleasure of helping a child learn more about recycling. I offered her the chance to push the recycling container to the bin, and as I lifted her up to drop boxes into the bin she told me about "Mama recycle" and "Helping!".
