More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been working with children and schools for 23 years in different roles including classroom teaching. I also have two boys of my own, one is 15 now and the other is 13. While they were babies I was able to work from home mostly so I could be with the every step of their developmental journey. I always felt very lucky to be able to watch them learn and grow. I facilitated a Nurturing Parent class when my boys were little and took so many excellent skills home with me to my own family. It was a wonderful experience to see families who faced challenges come together and learn the same skills I was taking home to my own children!

My experience with special needs children...

I was a special education teacher for students with emotional disabilities k-5. For three years, I was a special education coordinator for the Mountain BOCES where I supported students, teachers, administrative teams, and families for 2 school districts in rural Colorado. During this time I worked closely with students, teachers, families and administrative teams to program for students with various learning challenges in the school setting.
